I am proud to be a fourth grade teacher at Rossview Elementary. I am originally from Wisconsin and moved here in August of 2012, then my husband and I PCSed in 2015 to Fort Rucker AL, and I happy to be back for the third year. In March of 2014 I married my wonderful husband, Mike, and my name changed from Ms. Mielke to Mrs. Forsyth. In October of 2015 we were blessed when our daughter Maddison, was born, and blessed again in June of 2018 when our second daughter Megan was born. We are the proud owners two Rhodesian ridge back dogs. We both love to bowl and when I am not in the classroom you can find me at the Pinnacle, the barn or Hooper Lanes. My husband, Maddison, Megan, and I all love to go to museums, zoos, aquariums, six flags parks, motocross track, and spending time outside and camping.

Parent-Teacher Communication:

I believe that good parent-teacher communication is necessary for maximum school success.  Throughout the year, I plan to communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, progress reports, e-mails, Class Dojo, and parent- teacher conferences. Please be sure to check my website for copies for daily notes, study guides, and additional practice. Each week a newsletter will be sent home. This newsletter will be placed in the HAWKS Binder.   Please read over this newsletter as it has lots of important information. I would encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  Phone: (931) 645-1403, E-mail: [email protected], or send a note via your child in their HAWKS Binder.  I am available for conferences during my planning period or from 2:30–3:15 by appointment on most school days.

Our Class Rules:
Respect others when speaking and moving.

Excel in all assignments, always working hard to do your best.

Attentively listen, follow directions the first time they are given, and always think positively.

Cooperate with others on the road to success.

Honestly tell the truth and use good manners.

Last Minute Notes:

  • All Medicine goes to the nurse, not brought in by a child.
  • Recess time: 11:48 - 12:08
  • School Day: 8:25-3:25
  • My conference time/Students’ Specials: 2:30-3:15
  • Our lunch time: 12:10 - 12:40
  • Wear tennis shoes on all PE days
  • Students are responsible for keeping up with text books and library books
  • Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school. These bottles will be kept at students’ desks/cubby to help students stay hydrated.  Only water may be in student water bottles to minimize messes on desks and floors caused by spilling.

Suggested School Supply List for 4th grade.

In our classroom, we will focus on organization, personal responsibility, and cooperation.  Students will use the HAWKS binder to stay organized, as well as a classwork folder to keep class notes and materials organized at school.  I am including a list of supplies that I am requesting from each student.  I put them together in a central location and I contribute to this source, as well. If there is an item that you are unable to purchase I will do my best to make sure your child has what they need.
